South Korea's government send in refrigerated trucks to rescue World Scout Jamboree attendees amid heatwave following rousing Bear Grylls speech

Attracting some 43,000 participants, conditions at the annual scouting meet became critical after some 700 scouts sleeping in tents with little shade succumbed to soaring temperatures.

Taking place in Buan, South Korea, the country is currently experiencing an unprecedented heatwave, with temperatures reaching 35C in the North Jeolla province. Primarily attracting scouts aged 14-18, the event also attracts a range of other attendees, with British survival expert Bear Grylls the Chief Ambassador of World Scouting.

The video was accompanied by the caption: "It's super hot in Korea. To all @Scouts there, remember the mantra: Shade & hydrate act early if struggling buddy buddy always."
