The school holiday dates normally fall within three terms and take account of national and local public holiday dates.
Holidays and in-service days in the region have been confirmed for 2024/25 following a consultation with establishments, parents, parent councils and other stakeholders.

The second term goes as follows: pupils return on Monday, January 6, 2025; February break is on Monday and Tuesday, February 17 and 18; and there’s an inservice day on Wednesday February 19. Spring break begins on Monday, April 7, and schools re-open on Tuesday, April 22. Views were sought from a range of stakeholders on the proposed holiday dates and inservice days, including neighbouring local authorities, to try and achieve a common pattern of school holiday dates across Lanarkshire for the benefit of parents and schools.
