Former South San baseball coach Cliff Gustafson was honored on Tuesday April 22, 2008 before the South San baseball game at Burrows-Gustafson stadium. 2008 marks the 50th anniversary of South San winning the first of seven state titles in 10 years under Gustafson. Several of Gustafson’s players at South San are expected to attend along with the members of the late coach’s family. Gustafson coached South San from 1953 to 1967. From there, he won 1,466 games and two national championship at Longhorns coach from 1968 to 1997.
