An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.AGGRAVATED BATTERY: A 40-year-old Calumet City man was charged Sept. 14 with three counts of aggravated battery after allegedly putting a 71-year-old bus driver in a martial arts position known as the Standing Guillotine Choke Hold for three minutes.
FBI SCAM: A Frankfort Square resident sent $28,000 in crypto currency to an anonymous online “supervisor” who had told him it would “clear up” a law-enforcement investigation of “illegal and inappropriate photos that were federal crimes” on his computer, Will County sheriff’s police said. The resident, who also provided Social Security and checking/debit card numbers, told deputies on Aug.
CAR BURGLARY: A purse containing credit cards, cash and DJ equipment valued at $2,000 were reported stolen Aug. 12 from a vehicle parked at DiNolfo’s Banquets, 14447 W. 159th St. EQUIPMENT THEFT: A Homer Township Highway Department portable traffic analyzer, valued at $1,523, was reported stolen Aug. 15 from Hickory and Maple avenues, where it had been bolted to the roadway.
RESTAURANT BURGLARY: A window was reported smashed and cash reported stolen Aug. 21 from an office safe at White Castle, 12640 143rd St.,BATTERY: Daru Smith, 20, 18300 block of Robin Lane, Homewood, was arrested Sept. 4 and accused of battery at a business in the 18200 block of Halsted Street after punching an employee who had prevented him from shoplifting, police said. Smith was also arrested Sept.
