Spencer Matthews has confirmed that he will climb Mount Everest in a new documentary in the hopes of finding his brother Michael’s final resting place.

Michael Matthews, who was an experienced mountaineer, died aged 22 in 1999 on a mission that earned him the title of the youngest Brit to ever conquer Everest.Before his death, stock market trader Michael had climbed some of the world’s most challenging mountains, including Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.An insider previously told The Sun of the documentary: ‘Though the Matthews family were never able to recover Michael’s body, there is a guide who believes they know his final resting place.
‘It is a hugely emotional project and will be a very upsetting journey for many reasons, but Spencer is hugely passionate about embarking on it if he can make it work. ‘For years the family has raised funds in Michael’s name and for Spencer if they can get the project off the ground, it is going to be for his family and Michael.’
