Players will be told to wear black armbands in the weekend's fixtures as a result of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
The SPFL and SWPL have come together in a bid to support those suffering in the Israel-Palestine conflict by telling clubs to wear black armbands as a show of support. The war in Gaza is continuing to rage on after several weeks of conflict, with the death toll reportedly reaching over 1,500 at the end of last week.
The SPFL have since released a statement stating that those who have suffered in the middle East over the past two weeks will earn the 'humanitarian support' they deserve. And, in coalition with the British Red Cross, players from up and down the professional leagues are being told to wear black armbands in this weekend's games to show their solidarity.
"Scottish football is a positive and cohesive force for good in the communities that surround and sustain our clubs. We will therefore be supporting the British Red Cross, who have launched an emergency appeal to support the international response efforts aiding those in urgent need and will be promoting this appeal through social media this weekend.
