Nottingham Forest clinched a big point in their relegation fight with a draw against Crystal Palace
Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace was the first game for Nottingham Forest since the much-talked-about decision to deduct four points from the club for breaching financial regulations.
Punching - The Sun Chris Wood had boss Nuno Espirito Santo punching the air as Nottingham Forest climbed out of the bottom three in their battle to beat the drop. It was far from a vintage performance at this famous old stadium, yet there was still enough evidence to suggest Nuno Espirito Santo can harness that underdog spirit to boost Forest’s hopes of avoiding relegation.
Spirit in stand not matched in the performance - Independent Chris Wood scored his seventh goal in eight league games as Nottingham Forest moved back out of the relegation zone with a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace. Before kick-off fans in the Trent End unveiled a large banner which read ‘We shall fight and we shall overcome’ but the spirit in the stands was not matched by the performance on the pitch in the opening 45 minutes and Palace scored with their first real attack just 11 minutes in.
