The Spring Valley Village City Council discussed the matter with Evans’ attorneys Tuesday morning during a closed session at the council’s biweekly meeting. The two sides “reached an agreement in principle in which Chief Evans will be leaving his position as chief of police,” said Mayor Marcus Vajdos.
Evans, who sat in the council chambers for two hours while his attorneys deliberated with the council in another room, declined to comment., who represents the chief, said that he denies any wrongdoing but is “happy and ready to move on.”
