Obi-Wan was right to trust Dexter Jettster.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Obi-Wan Kenobi's legacy has been given a new depth thanks to a classic Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones character. Dexter Jettster, known more commonly as Dex, was once a source of criticism for being out of place in Attack of the Clones but has since become a somewhat celebrated character in the years following the prequel trilogy.
Dex played a major part in helping Obi-Wan locate Jango Fett and the Clone Army by identifying Kamino, and it wasn't the first time his friend had helped him with something so important. In Mike Chen's novel, Brotherhood, it's revealed that Dex was also a vital part of assisting Obi-Wan in his investigation on Cato Neimoidia. The pair of allies were even close enough for Dex to know about Obi-Wan's feelings for Satine Kryze, the Duchess of Mandalore at the time.
Obi-Wan Kenobi's Friend Dex Became A Rebel After Return Of The Jedi The new short story "The Veteran" by Adam Lance Garcia, as featured in From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi, shares that Dex lived on Coruscant the entirety of the Dark Times, even throughout the Galactic Civil War. His disillusionment with the Clone Wars kept him there until the death of the Emperor and the destruction of the Death Star drew him into the struggle at long last.
Dex's Knowledge Of Coruscant Would Be Key To Its Liberation With Dex living on Coruscant as long as he did and having quite the thread of connections, he was able to provide the rebel cells with all his knowledge of the undercity. The information he provided is what ultimately led to the liberation of Coruscant from the Empire.
Dex's first appearance in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones may not have seemed like much on the surface, but ever since, the character has become more and more of an important underlying figure in the galaxy's greatest conflicts. It's a testament to his character enough that Obi-Wan trusted him, but to discover more about his influence in liberating the galaxy's most central planet is truly riveting.
