In the latest issue of Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith is encountering his past in more ways than one, including his time as a podracer.
The latest issue of Darth Vader is teasing a return to podracing for the Dark Lord of the Sith. While Anakin Skywalker was a former life Darth Vader has worked hard to kill and bury, multiple events have brought that past back to the surface following The Empire Strikes Back. Case in point, this new issue sees Darth Vader encountering several key people from Anakin's past who may have provided the perfect opportunity for the Sith Lord to podrace once more.
In previous issues of Darth Vader from Greg Pak and Raffaele Ienco, the Emperor's Fist has been hunting down agents of Crimson Dawn who've infiltrated multiple levels of the Imperial hierarchy. Determined to bring order to the chaos, Darth Vader has been relentless in his mission. However, Sabé has returned once more, the former handmaid and decoy to Vader's late wife Padmé Amidala.
Preparing to go to war with the planet's governor who's been neglecting and abusing her people, it looks as though Darth Vader and Padmé's former handmaiden will be battling side by side in the issues to come. However, it would also be the perfect time for the Dark Lord to drive the podracer built by Kitster and Wald, perhaps using it for a high-speed infiltration into wherever the governor is based.
At any rate, all of these major blasts from the past are bound to have their effect on Darth Vader who's getting closer to his eventual redemption in Return of the Jedi with every issue. While being reminded that his late wife believed there was good in him helps, what better way to remind him of the boy he once was than for Darth Vader to podrace despite his darkness as a Sith Lord? Either way, there's no denying that it would be pretty wizard.
