People start playing Starfield and don’t especially like it. Too many cumbersome, unexplained systems, you feel stupidly underpowered and underprepared. It’s easy to bounce off right away.
However, the same people, the more they play, the more they like the game, and eventually will go “oh, so, which in the span of 48 hours went from “this is disappointing” to “this could be my favorite game of all time.”
While Bethesda no doubt has patches planned to fix bugs and such, my advice to them would be to smooth out this transition. The current situation goes well beyond the usual “well at the start of RPGs you have nothing” tradition, as the game is actively doing itself harm in multiple ways where some light buffs could really help things without making the game any “easier” as you continue to play. It’s just about making the beginning less abrasive.
