The UK Labour leader visited Burnside today to hail the election of Michael Shanks as the area's new MP.
Keir Starmer has hailed a "historic" Labour win in the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election and claimed the SNP's record in government was now "catching up on them".
The election was poor for the SNP, who took less than 30 per cent of the vote despite winning the constituency in 2019. "So we're bang on target, right on time with the strategy that I've been running for four and a half years. Starmer was joined in the celebrations by Sarwar, Shanks, Shadow Scotland Secretary Ian Murray and Scottish Deputy Leader Jackie Baillie, along with a whole host of MSPs and activists.
