Drama head Patrick Maguire, who had been with Disney for nearly two decades, is leaving to pursue other opportunities. The Jonnie Davis-led studio has tapped Susan Lewis, formerly senior vp originals at Starz, to replace Maguire.
Lewis will begin her new post Aug. 31 and report directly to ABC Signature exec vp Tracy Underwood. Lewis joins the studio following athat saw ABC Studios fold Underwood's Signature banner into one larger combined studio with a new name that is fronted by Davis. “I feel very lucky to be joining the incredibly talented team at ABC Signature,” Lewis said. “The breadth of projects that they have brought to audiences is unparalleled, and I am excited to be at a company that is doing everything possible to tell stories about people that have not been told before.”
Maguire, who was promoted in late 2018 to head drama for the former ABC Studios, rose through the ranks at Disney, working in comedy development and current programming. He worked on shows includingHe oversaw drama as part of former ABC Studios president Patrick Moran's team.
