One Texas lawmaker has pointed out the stark difference in police response times between the Nashville shooting and the May 24, 2022, mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
UVALDE, Texas — A school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday has triggered more conversations on gun reform and school safety. Three 9-year-olds and three adults were fatally shot at The Covenant School, a Presbyterian elementary school for students in preschool through sixth grade. The shooter, 28-year-old Audrey Hale, was killed by police inside the school.
Nineteen students and two teachers were killed that day in Texas. It took responding officers in Nashville just 14 minutes to neutralize the shooter. Video surveillance footage from Robb showed police waited 77 minutes while gunman Salvador Ramos, 18, was still loose in the school. Nashville PD neutralized the killer in 14 minutes. Then in less than 24 hrs later they release body cam footage.
