“I just told him I want to play football, so I got on a plane and got here immediately,” said Sterns, who flew to Regina on July 1, the day of his 24thHis signing was announced two days later and now a month later, he’s getting a chance to start his first professional game.

“We know this is a big game for us,” the head coach added. “If we expect to be a playoff-caliber team, we’ve got to start stringing a few wins together so it’s a big game for us. “This is one of those games where I think it’s going to show a lot of who we are and hopefully we respond the way I think we’re capable of.”
