Djed Spence impressed on loan at Nottingham Forest to earn his move to Tottenham and Steve Cooper was full of praise for the now-Leeds United loanee
Djed Spence has already outlined his determination to help Leeds United to return to the Premier League at the first attempt after joining on a season-long loan. The former Nottingham Forest full-back helped Steve Cooper's side achieve promotion two years ago, but has struggled to kick on following a big-money move to Tottenham.
The ex-Middlesbrough defender was named in both the EFL’s and PFA’s teams of the year for the second tier for his successful stint at the City Ground. It was during this loan spell that Cooper gave a positive reference for Spence, hinting at the type of character Daniel Farke has brought into the squad.
“He is like all young players, things are going well but there are still things he needs to improve on. I have not come across a 21-year-old yet who does not have parts of his game to work on. We love having him. Our job is to keep trying to get the best out of him."
