Recipients of a food and utility subsidy program in Chelsea, Massachusetts, will receive their final payment from the program in just under three weeks. These payments, ranging from $200 to $400 in value, go to 738 selected households on May 15.

These payments, ranging from $200 to $400 in value, go to 738 selected households on May 15. The funds, disbursed through the Chelsea Eats program, are meant to subsidize food and utility costs. A Chelsea city spokesperson told the Washington Examiner that the funds are loaded on recipients' debit cards, which were issued in early March. The amount issued to recipients depends on how many people are in their household.

To be eligible, families had to have been residents of Chelsea with a household income of 30% less than the area median. Households of one must make less than $29,450, and households of two must make less than $33,650 to be part of the program. The threshold increased for each additional member of the household. This next payment will be the third and final payment of the program. The first payment was issued on March 15, and the second was issued on April 15.

The spokesperson told the Washington Examiner that the program will be discontinued after this next payment.
