The pair will head to the Lake District for their challenge in support of Breast Cancer Now.
Two Stirling women are preparing to walk 100km in just two days to raise money for a breast cancer charity. She and her “walking buddy” Elaine Morgan Machray are gearing up to take on the mammoth ultra walk challenge in the Lake District on June 8-9.Claire said: “Every year there are around 55,000 new breast cancer cases in the UK, that’s more than 150 every single day.
“I now volunteer for Breast Cancer Now’s Someone Like Me helpline and know what an incredibly powerful service this is for those looking for advice and counsel when going through breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and after care.Elaine, a style and fitness consultant, said, even with her expertise, the walk is still quite a prospect but that sometimes fitness is about “mind over matter”.
“I have to say the thought of doing this distance two days running was and still can be a little daunting - mainly having to repeat the 31 miles with a 1200m climb the following day.
