Be careful out there and don't forget your brollies
Rain is expected throughout Saturday in Nottinghamshire as the Met Office has issued a "danger to life" warning for some parts of the UK. Heavy showers and low temperatures will last throughout Saturday as major events including the Riverside Festival and Ashfield Day are held.
A low-pressure system dubbed Storm Antoni by the Met Office is behind the strong winds and rain, with an amber weather warning in place for areas including southwest England. The Met Office warned flying debris is possible which could lead to injuries or 'danger to life'. Nottinghamshire is not covered by the amber and yellow weather warnings for wind, though heavy rain is expected.
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Steve Willington said: "Storm Antoni will bring some potentially disruptive weather on Saturday as it moves from west to east... Away from the warning area many will still see a very wet day, especially in north Wales and north England."In its outlook for the East Midlands throughout Saturday, the Met Office says: "Widespread rain and showers spreading across the region through the day.
But for the days ahead, the weather agency is predicting sunny spells and lights winds on Sunday, followed by sunny spells and isolated showers on Monday. Outbreaks of rain or drizzle are then set to return on Tuesday.
