National Weather Service forecasters said chances of light, scattered showers would remain until 10 a.m. with scattered clouds and sunshine in the afternoon — though temperatures will remain chilly. The storm wreaked havoc throughout the region on Tuesday: A homeless person was killed after getting swept into the Cucamonga Wash, a Fullerton business closed because of damage from a toppled tree, Knott’s Berry Farm was closed and Mountain High Ski Resort’s season opening was postponed.

Nearly 10 inches of rainfall were logged in Lytle Creek in the San Gabriel Mountains, while nearly 7 inches fell on Horsethief and Rice canyons near Lake Elsinore and more than 6 inches fell on Santiago Peak in Orange County, according to the National Weather Service.In lower elevations, Coto de Caza received more than 4 inches, San Juan Capistrano got nearly 3 inches and areas in northern Orange County collected roughly 2 inches as of 5 a.m. Wednesday.
