The date of the ward by-election will be announced in due course.
A Perth and Kinross Council ward by-election is set to take place in the coming weeks following the resignation of Conservative Strathallan ward councillor Crawford Reid.
“During that time, he has worked tirelessly for the people of the Strathallan Ward alongside his Scottish Conservative ward colleagues, initially councillor Murray Lyle and latterly councillor Keith Allan. “However, he feels that his return to the NHS as a consultant anaesthetist in Forth Valley prevents him from being able to allocate sufficient time to his duties as an elected member.
In 2022, councillor Lyle retired, with councillor Reid and his Conservative colleague, councillor Keith Allan, being returned as elected members for the ward.
