StrictlyComeDancing hopeful Amanda Abbington’s whirlwind romance with BGT star
With another series of Strictly Come Dancing just around the corner, the contestant announcements have been coming thick and fast, with Amanda Abbington announced as the first star taking to the dance floor this Autumn.
One person who will be sure to cheer her on however, is her fiancé former stuntman Jonathan Goodwin, who famously competed in both Britain’s Got Talent and it’s American counterpart America’s Got Talent as an escapologist.Prior to dating each other, Jonathan and Amanda had been long term pals on social media for well over a decade, during which time Amanda was in a relationship with fellow actor Martin Freeman.
In October 2021, Jonathan sadly suffered a life threatening stunt accident when a rehearsal for a death defying stunt went wrong. Following the fall Jonathan, 41, spent four months in hospital recovering from an extensive raft of injuries that included burns, broken legs and the loss of a kidney, which his partner Amanda even admitted had almost killed him.
