Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden has penned a sweet tribute to her parents on their 40th wedding anniversary, amid her ongoing breast cancer treatment
The Strictly Come Dancing pro, 33, who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, labelled her parents the "best role models" as she posted a photo of the pair to her Instagram Story."The best role models and Lloyd, Rebecca and I are so lucky to have you as our parents! Devoted their lives to each other and their children.
Taking to Instagram, Amy shared a photo of her twin sister, wishing her a happy birthday, before going on to explain that she had not been looking forward to her own birthday on Thursday 10 August. She then encouraged her followers to check their own breasts, writing: "This year my birthday wish is for all to take the time to check themselves! @coppafeelpeople have so many useful resources [prayer hands emoji] [heart emoji]!
Amy has been open about her cancer battle on social media and recently shared that she “burst into tears” when she arrived at the hospital for her first round of chemotherapy.
