Center Mason McTavish scores the only goal for the Ducks in a 4-1 loss to Minnesota, which has won 13 consecutive games in the series since January 2021. The Ducks have lost 11 of their past 14.

ANAHEIM — The starting goalies at Honda Center on Wednesday night were separated by 200 feet of ice and 951 games of NHL experience, with 38-year-old Marc Andre-Fleury and the Minnesota Wild besting rookie Lukas Dostal and the Ducks, 4-1.

Centers Connor Dewar, Matthew Boldy and Joel Eriksson Ek tallied for the Wild, who won their season-best sixth straight game while continuing their two-year domination of the Ducks. Boldy added two assists, winger Ryan Hartman snagged an empty-net goal and Fleury had 21 saves for the visitors, who have earned 13 consecutive victories over the Ducks since January 2021. The Ducks have earned only four points during that stretch of the rivalry.

The game was competitive for much of the night but Minnesota pulled away in the third period, much as the Kings did a night earlier. Hartman capped the night with an empty-netter. He had not scored since Oct. 27, largely because he sustained a serious shoulder injury three days later. The Ducks applied heavy pressure to start the third period but to no avail, and then gave up a pivotal goal with 15:14 remaining. Kulikov’s giveaway to Boldy led to the second-year forward ripping a shot from the right circle that clipped Dostal on its way into the net to give Minnesota its first lead and the only one it needed.

Breakingviews - UAE gets ducks in a row with chemicals reshuffleBreakingviews - UAE gets ducks in a row with chemicals reshuffleThe United Arab Emirates seems to have done a $4 billion deal with itself. The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company on Wednesday acquired a 25% stake in $16 billion Austrian oil group OMV from Mubadala, the UAE’s wealth fund. Financial details were not disclosed. But valuation-wise, it doesn’t really matter if one UAE state entity is getting a better deal as the transaction just transfers an asset from one pocket to another.
