On-loan Arsenal striker is set for three months on the sidelines with an MCL injury.
Stuart Kettlewell has rejected Charles Dunne’s defence of the tackle that’s left star striker Mika Biereth sidelined for three months with a torn knee ligament.
“He knew at the time it was a pretty bad tackle and the injury makes it difficult to swallow especially when he was starting to integrate with his team mates. “Listen, I understand these things happen in football. I was a guy that made tackles such as that plenty of times and you received a punishment for it. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up, you mistimed it, you were out of control and have endangered an opponent.
“It’s not just the one where you think it’s going to break a leg, it’s the weight bearing joints and your full force coming on top of that - irrespective of whether you’ve taken the ball.” Mika’s got a tear of his MCL. It’s really serious. He’ll be in a knee brace for a month or so.” “Either way you’re looking at a similar timescale. I’ve always spoken about trying to run with four strikers minimum.
