A 13-year-old middle school student was charged with slashing another teen’s face during a fight Thursday at a school in Pleasantville, police said Tuesday. The two 13-year-old girls got into a fight around 2:45 p.m. at Middle School of Pleasantville, police said. One of the teens slashed the other girl with a knife, causing a cut to her cheek, police said.
The teens were separated by school staff before officers arrived. The 13-year-old who had the knife was charged was charged Thursday with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon. She was placed on home detention, police said. Her name was not released because of her age.
Pleasantville Police Capt. Stacey Schlachter told NJ Advance Media Tuesday morning that the cause of the fight is not known.
