Unlike in Paulding County, where the students themselves highlighted a lack of public safety measures on campus, the photos from Sequoyah High School were shared by an Instagram account affiliated with the school, though the post has since been deleted. A student from Woodstock High School in Cherokee County told, which have also been circulating online via @freeyourmindkid.
“I took photos in the hope that they would go viral and bring attention to Cherokee County and more specifically Woodstock High School so more people could see how dangerous and unsafe it is for everyone involved,” the student, who preferred to remain anonymous, told.
The student noted that though Woodstock has not outright banned posting photos from campus, he is still afraid of backlash from his school should the administration find out he took photos that went viral. “While I don’t regret taking the photos, I’m also terrified of getting in trouble because of them,” he said. “It took tremendous emotional turmoil for me to be able to post those.
