EXCLUSIVE: Mother's Day is a hectic one for Sue Radford, and the 22 Kids and Counting star shares with OK! the special gift her children give her, and her favourite ever Mothering Sunday memory
Most mums will be looking forward to the odd box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers this Mother’s Day. But for the matriarch of Britain’s biggest family it’s a chance to put her feet up and open a pile of cards and gifts that might rival most people’s Christmas haul.
“The kids will sort the washing out for me, so I don't have to do it, which is a gift in itself! Then we’ll have a traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings and later in the day lots of cake and chocolate.” Of course every Mother’s Day is memorable when you have such a large brood - Sue and Noel are grandparents to 10 - but one year there was an added lustre to it. “I remember Mother’s Day also fell on my birthday which was amazing,” Sue recalls, presented as she was with five boxes of chocolates as well as a Pandora bracelet.
For this year’s Mother’s Day, though, there will be a very special delivery in the house. Their new book, The Radfords: Making Life Count will have just hit the shops. The project, which Sue says they had wanted to do for a long time, charts the ups and downs of life with 22 children.
