NEW TONIGHT: An 82-year-old believed to be dead was taken to a LongIsland funeral home. Police say it was discovered that she was still breathing.
Suffolk police say an 82-year-old woman believed to be dead and taken to a funeral home on Saturday was still breathing.
Police say the woman was pronounced dead at 11:15 a.m. at Waters Edge Rehab and Nursing Center in Port Jefferson.Police say it was discovered at 2:09 p.m. that she was still breathing.reached out to the funeral home, which issued a statement: “Out of respect for the privacy and confidentiality of the families we are honored to serve, we are not in a position to comment further on this matter.”Police say the case was referred to the New York State Attorney General's office.
