She’s known for her effortless style, confident spirit and iconic looks, and it’s clear to see the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when it comes to catwalk queen Kate Moss and her only daughter, Lila.
Though it’s not rare to see the pair together — they both walked in Fendi’s Haute Couture show in 2021 — it’s usually when they’re on the front row at London or Paris Fashion Week. Here, Kate and Lila have clearly been able to switch off and enjoy some mother-daughter bonding time in the sun. The young model has been open about having Type 1 diabetes, and has proudly displayed both her pump and continuous glucose monitor at events such as the Met Gala in 2022.
Kate and Lila even shared a British Vogue cover last December, where Lila candidly spoke about her mother’s impressive career. Kate became one of the fashion world’s most in-demand faces after being discovered by a modelling scout at the age of 14. She was famously spotted by agency boss Sarah Doukas at JFK Airport in New York. Despite the enormous success Kate has achieved in her career, she was less keen for a young Lila to follow in her footsteps.
“All my mum’s friends say that I was so scary as a child. I was quite serious. But also, I would copy her. She would always have her head down and not look at the camera, so I’d always put my head down and not look at the camera. I still do it.”
