Pennsylvania lawmakers intend to appeal a recent voting rights decision to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Pennsylvania ruling is one ofof cases concerning election laws ahead of the November election, some of which could potentially end up before the Supreme Court, as Democratic groups, the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee undertake extensive legal efforts to either expand or challenge specific voting rules.

With Ginsburg’s death, the court is now made up of only eight justices—five of whom are viewed as leaning conservative—and a tied 4-4 decision would leave the lower court’s ruling in place, though GOP senators are looking to quickly fill Ginsburg’s seat, potentially before the election.
