Surrey County Council has bought the Victoria Gate building as a new corporate hub.
Surrey County Council has announced it is to move some of its services into the Victoria Gate building in Woking.
The council has bought the building in Chobham Road to replace its corporate office hub, currently located in Quadrant Court on Guildford Road.as Woking Borough Council looked to sell the building to help ease its £2bn debts. The county council said the new location would be more accessible for the public and its staff as it is close to public transport and car parking.
Natalie Bramhall, cabinet member for property, waste and infrastructure, said: “This strategic move reaffirms Surrey County Council’s commitment to creating a conducive work environment while aligning with our broader objectives of sustainability and improved service delivery.” Surrey County Council’s main headquarters is in Woodhatch Place, Reigate, with other corporate hubs in Weybridge and Leatherhead.
