"It's just scary when you're sitting there and you look on your phone, and you see someone walking around and trying to open the back door to your house," Richards said. "It made it that much more troublesome; we don't have a lot of naked people trying to break into our house. It could have been a whole different outcome if we were home because we have two pretty good-sized dogs.
"I'm glad it's over, and I learned a lesson about locking my doors — we've lived here for more than 20 years and have never dealt with anything like this," Ellen said.
