Following his arrest, Dechert was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of murder, according to San Francisco police.
A 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing and killing another man in Haight-Ashbury in September, police announced on Tuesday.
San Francisco police officers were called just before 6:05 a.m. on Sept. 8 to the area of Haight and Shrader streets, near the Amoeba Music store, on reports of the stabbing and found a 65-year-old man wounded at the scene, according to a department statement. The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing, and no motive was provided. Anyone with information was asked to contact the San Francisco Police Department at 415 575-4444.
