His actions were deemed so serious that he was reported to the Teaching Regulation Agency. They found that his online activities mounted to ‘unacceptable professional conduct and conduct that may bring the profession into disrepute’. The panel said it was not their place to cast judgement on Mr Hoare’s private life, but the public nature of his X account meant it was ‘not purely conduct that had occurred within his private life’.
