Between 1.7 and 2.5 inches of sleet and snow accumulated in the Dallas-Fort Worth area Thursday, and other areas northwest of Dallas-Fort Worth saw up to 3 inches of snow and sleet. Roads and walkways were still slick and wet, and officials cautioned against driving because the residual water is expected to refreeze overnight.
Snow is no longer in the forecast, but temperatures are expected to be brisk Friday evening with a low of 14 degrees around 11 p.m. Dangerous wind chills of minus-5 to 5 degrees are possible through Saturday, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a hard freeze warning from midnight Saturday to 9 a.m.
