The Manchester United boss is preparing his side to take on Tottenham Hotspur this weekend and James Maddison will likely line up for the home side
United will come up against a new-look Spurs side in Ange Postecoglou’s first Premier League fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Maddison has admitted that he was a boyhood United fan and idolised Wayne Rooney. The English midfielder even made his Premier League debut at Old Trafford after his move to Leicester from Norwich City in 2018. After Son Heung-min and Cristian Romero had been withdrawn, Maddison donned the captain’s armband. The 26-year-old is clearly already considered a senior figure in Postecoglou's group. The boyhood United fan provided 19 goal contributions for relegated Leicester last season, chipping in with 10 goals and nine assists.
