Terry Judy will continue his campaign for Hendricks County sheriff following a DUI arrest early Sunday morning.
Judy retired from the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office in Decemberand is not employed by the department, Hendricks County public information officer Capt. Amanda Goings told IndyStar on Sunday.
Judy, 55, worked as an officer with the HCSO for more than 30 years, retiring as captain of investigations after serving in the role for seven years. Judy released an apology statement via Veteran Strategies before Tuesday's announcement to continue his campaign. At that time, he said he was consulting with family, friends and supporters" in regards to his candidacy for sheriff.
"Please accept my apology for using poor judgment this past weekend," he said in a statement sent to IndyStar. "I have spent my entire professional career in law enforcement, and I make no excuses for my actions."
