Texas Education Agency leaders initially recommended revoking the company’s right to operate.
A Texas Teachers of Tomorrow official said on Monday they were pleased that the document posted online reflected that the company has already resolved several of the issues identified.
In January, the agency informed the teacher prep company that it was recommending the state oversight board revoke Texas Teachers of Tomorrow’s right to operate. But two months later, the company negotiated an order that sets conditions for it to continue. In 2021, the company enrolled nearly 70,000 aspiring educators, which is more than all other teacher prep companies in the state combined. Roughly 6,000 completed the program and about 5,500 gained their full teaching certification, according to self-reported data.
