Detectives found over $15,00 and two handguns during the arrest.
Detectives from the office’s narcotic task force stopped the car on Aug. 25 in Ridgefield and a search revealed $15,200 and two 9-millimeter handguns, one of which contained hollow nose bullets, according to a statement from the office.
The two men in the car, Francis Hidalgo, 23, of Missouri City, Texas and Antonio Moreno, 23, of Stafford, Texas were on their way to deliver the cash to an unidentified person in Texas when they were stopped, the office said. They were arrested and Hidalgo was charged with money laundering and weapons-related offenses while Moreno was charged with weapons-related offenses, investigators said. They were released with unspecified conditions following their initial court appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
