Under the direction of its founder, Irish whiskey entrepreneur Ally Alpine, they have become the premier awards in the Irish whiskey industry; widely respected among both consumers and industry participants for the scope and quality of their judging process.
This year the awards returned to an in-person event and were held in Powerscourt Distillery in County Wicklow. Jack Teeling, the Founder and Managing Director of Teeling Whiskey, was the keynote speaker and presented the awards on the night.
Now in its eighth year and spanning over 12 categories, the awards honor the very best of Irish whiskey and are a fitting tribute to the revival of the Irish whiskey industry over the last three decades. The industry now has around 40 distilleries either operating or in the planning and construction stage, up from just four in 2013.
