This open-air pool is located in the heart of a beautiful Peak District village
On a sunny summer’s day you can’t beat a swim in an open-air pool - it can give you that ultimate holiday-feeling without having to fly anywhere. Lidos are hard to come by here in Greater Manchester, but luckily there’s one only a 90-minute drive away - and it’s surrounded by ‘stunning scenery’.
The 30-metre pool is heated to 27C, although it does warm up in the sun. It's open from April to September and there are different sessions running every day, including lane swimming, family-friendly open-swims and season ticket holder sessions.But you don't have to be a local resident to enjoy the pool, with members of the public able to book sessions in advance online.
Another described it as an “amazing hidden gem”. A third wrote: “The pool couldn't be in a better setting, in the beautiful village of Hathersage surrounded by stunning countryside.”
