Temperatures are set to soar across Scotland this weekend, which means that a trip to the beach is in order.
Whether you live in Scotland's biggest city, or just want to be as close to the peak temperatures as possible, there are a few beaches near Glasgow that are perfect for a sunny day out. One of these is Irvine Beach in North Ayrshire. Also known as the Gailes, the beach is found to the southeast of Irvine's harbour. The beach and car park are right next to a 'beach park' that features plenty of picnic spots and play areas for young ones.
Looking at travel website Tripadvisor, Irvine Beach is very popular amongst visitors. The beach currently has an average rating of 4.5 out of five based on 110 reviews.
