The inaugural event will take place at the Albert Hall on April 23 with nominees including Sam Fender, DJ Paulette, Blossoms, Self Esteem, Louis Tomlinson, and Courteeners
Tim Burgess is to receive special recognition at the first ever Northern Music Awards in Manchester next month.
The ceremony will feature performances by Lisa, alongside Courteeners frontman Liam Fray, indie hip hop artist Antony Szmierek, Leeds quartet English Teacher and Warrington-based band The K’s. Tickets for the event are on sale now. Speaking about the recognition, Tim said: “It’s incredible to be recognised with the inaugural Northern Music Award. Music is important on so many levels, and I’m a firm believer in the unique way that it can connect people.
The event has been created to celebrate the best when it comes to the Northern music scene including artists, venues, and events. Aitch’s manager Michael Adex, who is behind the NQ talent agency, will receive the first ever Industry Icon Award during the night, whilst The Reytons will pick up the Disruptor Award.
