The coronavirus pandemic is not the end of humanity, but it’s putting us to the test ForbesFrontlines

The Merriam-Webster dictionary has a couple of definitions of humanity; the most commonly recognized is “the entire human race.” It is in light of this definition that I am confident Covid-19 is not the end of humanity. The other frequently used definition of humanity is “compassionate, sympathetic, or generous behavior or disposition.” This definition for humanity resonates with its origin from the Latin, which translates as “human nature, kindness.

Perhaps the absolute best of humanity is demonstrated in the frontline healthcare workers who are putting in countless hours and showing up for work every day despite the obvious risks. In the United States alone, we have surpassed 800 medical personnel who have died providing service to those infected with Covid-19, a number that unfortunately continues to rise.
