A new study has revealed the most 'creepy' villages across the UK, with two destinations in Scotland featured — including one where the mummified head of Jesus Chris is said to be sealed away.

Now that Halloween is just days away, people across Scotland will be looking for unique ways to spend the spooky holiday.

As reported by the Scottish Daily Express, the experts put together a list of the eight most creepy villages across the UK ahead of October 31 — and two of them are found right here in Scotland.View gallery The top-placing Scots village is the Midlothian village of Roslin, situated around just seven miles out of Edinburgh. Believed to have been founded all the way back in the year 203 by the Picts, there is history abound.

Some even say that the Rosslyn Chapel has ties to Jesus Christ. Legend states that the chapel's original crypt has been walled off, with the mummified head of Christ sealed away inside. Constructed in the late 14th or early 15th century, the castle has long been rumoured to be haunted by spirits. One of these is known as the white lady of the St Clair clan — supposedly cursed by a wicked spell — who is waiting for a knight to come and rescue her.
