'The Croods: A New Age' trailer: Ryan Reynolds (VancityReynolds,) Emma Stone and Nicolas Cage return for long-awaited sequel
, the follow-up to DreamWorks Animation's 2013 animated adventure comedy, has dropped.
Nicholas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Cloris Leachman, Catherine Keener and Clark Duke have all returned to voice theircharacters for the sequel, with Peter Dinklage, Leslie Mann and Kelly Marie Tran joining the cast as the Bettermans, a family whose idyllic residence has caught the eye of the first prehistoric family.
After surviving disasters and beasts in the fictional prehistoric"Croodaceous" era, the Croods find themselves in need of a new place to live. "Dad always says the pack stays together," Stone's Eep Crood says as the family flies through the air on the back of their saber-tooth-esque cat predator."Now, we're searching for a perfect place to call home."
When they stumble upon a walled-in paradise, complete with a towering treehouse and irrigated acres of colorful, fresh produce, it seems like they've stumbled into the perfect place. But they soon discover that it's not ripe for the taking as it currently belongs to the Bettermans, an evolved family.
The Croods' arrival to their new home has its perks, including new relationships and access to modern amenities like a"bird window" and sandals. But Cage's patriarch Grug isn't taking well to all the changes, and tension between both families begins to grow. So when Eep takes the Betterman's daughter, Dawn , outside their towering wall, both families are suddenly thrust into an adventure that may see them forging a new future together.
