The face of the man who supplied lethal weapons and drugs to Manchester's gangs for two decades
This is the face of the "dangerous" guns and drugs to Manchester's gangsters. Now Michael Derrane has been jailed for almost two decades.
Yesterday at Leeds Crown Court, Derrane, of St Mary's Park. Morpeth, Northumberland, was sentenced to 19 years and two months imprisonment after he had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transfer prohibited weapons and conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs namely heroin, cocaine and cannabis.
On July 2nd 2020, Alsi Vata, 26, who had conspired with Derrane to buy this and other firearms, was detained by NCA officers in the presence of the former Home Secretary, Priti Patel - who had asked to see an NCA operation - as he left an apartment in Soho. In another message, Derrane references a dispute he has over drugs and money with another man, saying: “‘That’s all they have to wait and I just need 2 bullets in a gun.”
