“The Queen’s Gambit” star told Page Six at the New York premiere of “The Menu” that she’s capable of boiling water, but not much more when it comes to cooking. “It’s just more that it doesn’t really interest me,” the actress — whose character in the film dines at a swanky, exclusive restaurant — told us on Tuesday. “I’m not going to lie to you. I feel like we have delivery, we have takeout.”Taylor-Joy, 26, also confessed that she’s someone who doesn’t do well if they skip a meal.
“I’m somebody who gets hanxious — hungry [and] anxious — so I just have to eat something,” she divulged. “I need to eat regularly, so I need something to fill my stomach, I don’t care what it is.” Her co-star Nicholas Hoult revealed that he’s a little better in the kitchen, but still not the best.Taylor-Joy and Hoult co-star with Ralph Fiennes in"The Menu."
