The generational push that’s coming out of London is unlike anything we’ve seen before, except for the fact that, as ever, the revolution has been organically brewed among graduates of British fashion schools. Now, the children who’ve grown up in the wake of the financial crash, globalization, and the climate crisis are with us: a whole cohort of designers who uncompromisingly and persuasively see sustainability and social responsibility as one and the same thing.
Ahluwalia, English, and Malone have been at the forefront of this change, having gone through school at a time when even the teachers hadn’t done the work on sustainable practices.

Malone and English are equally eloquent about why they design with deadstock, practice localism, and are constantly experimenting with ways to do things better.
